I live in Pittsburg, California. Help me plan a free weekend afternoon this month. Ask me what I enjoy first.

Help me understand a letter I received. I will paste it with my name and account numbers removed.
Scams to watch for in Pittsburg
Scammers target people everywhere, including a community like Pittsburg. These three are among the most common:
- Romance and friendship scams. A new online friend who soon asks for money, even for a small emergency, is a warning sign. Do a reverse image search of their photos and tell a trusted person.
- Fake charity requests. After storms and in the holidays, fake charities appear. Give through a charity you looked up yourself, not one that called or texted you.
- Fake bank fraud alerts. A caller or text says your account is under attack and you must move money. Real banks never ask you to do that. Hang up and call the number on the back of your card.
If something happens, report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and call the AARP Fraud Watch helpline at 877-908-3360 (free, open to everyone).

- Area Agency on Aging. Find your local office and services for older adults with the Eldercare Locator, or call 1-800-677-1116. Enter Pittsburg or your ZIP code.
- Medicare questions. Free, unbiased counseling is available through your State Health Insurance Assistance Program. Find California's office at shiphelp.org.
