Improve Your Resume With AI
AI can turn vague duties into clear achievements. The facts must always be true and yours.
Step by step
- Paste a job description. Pick a role you really want.
- Paste your resume text. Remove your address and phone number first.
- Ask for stronger bullets. Request action verbs and measurable results where you have them.
- Add real numbers. Fill in actual figures yourself.
- Proofread. Check dates, titles and spelling.
What to expect
Expect stronger bullets.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not invent. Avoid keyword stuffing.
A good next step
Proofread.
Before you start: gather the raw material
Tailor it to one job, step by step
- Paste the job posting. Tell the assistant: "Here is a job posting. List the ten skills and keywords it cares about most."
- Paste your current resume. Ask: "Which of these skills do I already show, and which are missing or buried?"
- Rewrite the top third. Ask for a short summary and a skills list that uses the posting's own words, but only where it is true for you.
- Turn duties into results. Give it "ran the front desk" and ask for a stronger line. Then add your real numbers, such as "greeted about 80 visitors a day."
- Read every line aloud. Delete anything you could not explain in an interview.
Before and after
- Before. "Responsible for managing a team and handling customer complaints."
- After. "Led a team of 6 and resolved customer complaints within one business day, raising satisfaction scores."
- The rule. Only keep a number if it is true. Replace guesses with honest estimates such as "about" or "more than."
Handling an age or a gap
Final checks
A full example, from weak to strong
- Original bullet. "Responsible for answering phones and helping customers."
- First rewrite with AI. "Handled about 60 customer calls a day, resolving most issues on the first call."
- Add proof. "Handled about 60 calls a day with a 95 percent first-call resolution rate and was recognized as employee of the quarter." Only include figures you can verify.
- Check the tone. Remove words you would not use in conversation.

A prompt you can copy
Here is a job description: [paste]. Here are my current resume bullets: [paste]. Rewrite the bullets to match the job where my experience truly fits. Do not invent any skills, titles or numbers. Mark any place where I should add a real figure.

Will AI-written resumes get filtered?
Clear, honest, relevant resumes do best. Avoid stuffing keywords.
How long should it be?
One page for most people, two if you have long experience.
Will employers know I used AI?
Employers care that the resume is accurate and clear. Use AI to polish your own facts, never to invent experience.
Should I put my full address?
City and state are usually enough. Add a phone number and a professional email.
Can AI write a cover letter too?
Yes. Give it the posting and three true points about you, then edit the draft in your own voice.
Is it safe to paste my resume in?
Remove your street address and any ID numbers before pasting.
Should I use the same resume for every job?
Keep a master version and tailor a copy for each application, changing the summary, skills and top bullets.
How do I show recent learning?
Add a line for recent courses and tools, such as spreadsheets, video meetings or AI tools.
