What you will learn
You will learn to use tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for real life: understanding a confusing letter, planning a trip, checking whether a message is a scam, and writing a note you are proud of. The best way to learn is to try things on questions from your own day.

Scams to watch for in Tooele
Scammers target people everywhere, including a community like Tooele. These three are among the most common:
- Fake package delivery texts. A text says a package could not be delivered and asks you to tap a link. Do not tap it. Open the carrier's real app or website yourself, or paste the text into an AI assistant and ask: "Does this look like a scam? What should I do?"
- Medicare card and plan calls. Callers offering a free brace or a new Medicare card want your number. Medicare does not cold call to sell things. Free local counseling is available (see below).
- Romance and friendship scams. A new online friend who soon asks for money, even for a small emergency, is a warning sign. Do a reverse image search of their photos and tell a trusted person.
If something happens, report it at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and call the AARP Fraud Watch helpline at 877-908-3360 (free, open to everyone).
